Foot-Washings

Living on Skid Row, walking everywhere you need to go, and often not having regular access to showers can be very hard on many people’s feet. That’s why we want to bless them with the opportunity to have their feet washed and also receive clean socks and shoes. John 13:14-15 says, “If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet. For I have given you an example that you should do as I have done to you.” We believe it would not only be beneficial to our guests to receive this act of kindness, but would also be a rewarding experience for volunteers to serve others in this way. We ask that you collect as many pairs of socks and new to slightly worn pairs of shoes for all ages as well!

To cover the cost of the plastic tubs, gloves, foot powder, and paper towels needed to do the foot washings, a suggested donation of $10 per volunteer is appreciated!  Donations can be made on the day of the event.

Volunteers Needed: 15-20 people to wash; 2+ podiatrists
